What is OBIEE?


Oracle Business Intelligence Suite, Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) is an advances and interdisciplinary BI platform that encompassesa complete range of BI capabilities on architecture specially designed for enterprise deployment.

Components of OBIEE:

The product is stable once OBIEE is up and running. However, on certain platforms, the product display instability, as same operation leads to diverse results when performed on different occasions.

These instabilities are due to the design of architecture. Stability is possible with a robust product implementationand product testing must be done under rigorous care as certification might get invalidated even for a minor deficiency.


OBIEE maintenance is a work of challenge due to the presence of numerous processes, configuration files and tools. This can be overcome by maintaining duplicate configuration information, like port numbers, so that two or more files can be updated simultaneously.

OBIEE is more of a kind of collection of middleware products from various vendors, rather than a single consistent design.

Incremental Upgrades

The HTTP servers feed each cluster to randomly assign user queries to different clusters. Then, as confidence in the stability enhances, servers are migrated from old to the new cluster pool.

It accepts requests from users and passes them to OBIEE server.

OBIEE Application Server

OBIEE Application Server works on client components.

OBIEE Scheduler

It schedules jobs in OBIEE repository. When you create a repository, OBIEE also creates a table inside the repository that saves all schedule information. All jobs scheduled arethereby monitored by the job manager.

Otherwise, they can easily waste a great deal of time analyzing data that will not lead to optimization recommendations.Quality #1 – Cares About PerformanceA person who cares about performance will get the job done, simple as that.
